A Marine combat veteran Graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, Andrew was commissioned as a Marine, serving as an intelligence officer and reconnaissance commander. Andrew served in combat with special forces units against Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, and with law enforcement in counter-drug missions. Andrew finished his uniformed service with the Defense Intelligence Agency’s North Korea analysis group.
Who worked to protect us from grave threats and major disasters Then Andrew transitioned to the U.S. Department of State to start the first-ever government office specifically designed to combat the threats of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and terrorism. Later, Andrew accepted a position at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security where he worked in multiple disaster locations, including the Haiti earthquake and Gulf Coast oil spill.
With real world business experience After leaving public service Andrew joined the executive team at Raley’s, and together he and his wife also operated a successful small business. Former CEO of the Northern California World Trade Center, Andrew worked to open up trading opportunities and support economic development.
Andrew and his wife Mary Ellen live in Folsom with their three children.
